All too many newsrooms are grappling with the challenge of connecting with and engaging audiences who exist at the margins of traditional news media consumption, including young people, racialized communities, and news avoiders and detractors. How do we bring these audiences to trusted sources of news, and meet the critical information of the populations who need it most? #JournalismMatters to us: how do we make sure it matters to more people?
This J-Talk event will bring together journalists and editors who have been successful in reaching new audiences and convincing detractors by identifying gaps, using experimentation, and launching new strategies to meet their critical information needs.
The webcast is 60 minutes: 45 minutes of moderated conversation, followed by 15 minutes of audience Q&A.
